This week’s Blog Entry is the 3rd Indonesian wagon that we have the honor to feature on Avantturous. Andi, the owner of this S203, was kind enough to share a story behind his ownership of this wagon. Purchased in 2008 from an elderly gentleman, this S203 started its life as a silver wagon. As the trend for white car was going strong in the late 2000s, Andi decided to jump in on the bandwagon. To finish off the whitening process, BRABUS front bumper and rear valence were added. BRABUS exhaust was also added to complete the rear end. The interior also benefited from the BRABUS treatment by receiving the tuner’s door pins (Sorry, forgot to take photo of this as Andi and I were too excited exchanging stories about our similar automotive path in college). You see, Andi once lived in California for a few years while attending college; in which he was exposed to the California car culture.

Tired from rolling static LOW around the Jakarta streets, air suspension was sourced to make Andi’s commute more comfortable. Air suspension’s ability to raise and lower the wagon is deemed as a necessity to make life easier. Previously, Andi’s S203 Estate was rolling on a set of OZ Futura wheels and recently made the switch to the BBS LM-R wheels that you see on this photoshoot. While OZ Futura wheels may be one of my all-time favorite wheels, the BBS LM-R wheels look good on Andi’s wagon… like DAMNNNN GOOD!

As of future plans, Andi is satisfied with how his wagon looks. New wheels may be in order after he is bored with the recently acquired BBS LM-R wheels. Keeping a healthy bill is definitely on Andi’s top priority as this wagon underwent an extensive engine and transmission rebuild just a couple of years ago. While this wagon no longer serves as Andi’s daily driver, we hope to see it more often around the streets of Djak-Sel!

WHY A WAGON?

Accidentally came across this wagon up for sale and realized how rare of a specimen it was.

Did you consider a different WAGON instead of this one?

I had both this S203 and E39 wagon at the same time at one point. I had since sold the E39 wagon and replaced it with a BMW Z4, so….
