Avantturous blog’s finally returned after a few months long hiatus! It feels good to be back and we hope that everyone is doing well! At Avantturous, it isn’t always about tastefully modified wagons. When we do come across something rare, we know right away that a blog feature is needed. What I meant by RARE is that this specific variant was never offered stateside . Plus, a rare wagon is the perfect way to kick off the New Year (2025) with a BANG! And… YES, your eyes are seeing it correctly: it’s a RHD (Right-Hand-Drive) model wagon! Originally sold new in Japan, this Avant made a long trek to Canada before being acquired by its current owner.
Enter Milo and his RHD Audi B7 RS4 Avant for the first blog in 2025. Milo is a familiar face in the Audi ownership game; having owned multiple Audi Avants in the past and currently a proud owner of this rare B7 RS4 and an ultra-rare RS2 Avant (more on this later…) Being an RS Avant variant, Audi fitted this model with its signature widebody fashion. What Audi pursued differently this time around was fitting a high-rev V8 4.2 engine with a 6-speed manual transmission rather than going with V6 Twin Turbo route like their previous generation RS4 (B5). Keep in mind, B7 Audi RS4 was competing in the same market as the V8 equipped BMW E9x M3 and Mercedes Benz W204 C63 AMG. Milo admitted that the high-rev V8, manual and Avant on the B7 platform are the three things that won his heart when choosing his next ride this time around. Being one-of-a-kind wagon is also a plus! Finished in Ibis White exterior color, Milo’s wagon boasts one rare package option: Audi Exclusive White Package. For those who aren’t familiar with the White Package, here is a list of things that make Audi cars equipped with this package so special:
* Recaro Wingback Seats w/ White Stitching & Ibis White Back Covers
* White Dash Trim
* Slick Top (No Sunroof)
* Black Roof Rack Lining
* Alcantara RS Sports Flat Bottom Steering Wheel, Gear Knob & Handbrake Grip w/ White Stitching
* Exclusive RS4 Logo Mats with White Piping
* Audi Exclusive Badging on Door Cards
* Ibis White Grille Surround
* Titanium Package (Wheels & Sideview Mirrors Caps)
* Black OEM Exhaust Tips
Anyhow, enough of me talking and let’s get this feature going!
Introduce Yourself
Name is Milo. Born and raised in SoCal. I have been a lawyer for 20+ years and took a break from practicing law to run a mountain biking shop I co-founded.
WHY A WAGON?
I am a car enthusiast, but wagons (especially high performance ones) occupy a large space in my heart. They are practical. They fly under the radar easier (usually). They can be the proverbial “wolf in sheep’s clothing.” To make a TLDR: wagons remind me of my family and have been the source of many great experiences and friendships.
Share your unique story behind your WAGON ownership
My first Audi was a B5 S4 sedan. At the time, a B5 S4 avant was the ultimate vehicle in my eyes as I had a growing family, plus checked off boxes like AWD and easy power. My first avant was a Casablanca B5 S4 (sport package and manual), which I have owned for almost 20 years. I flew out to New Mexico to pick her up sight unseen. A C6 A6 Avant was the family hauler for a number of years thereafter. Once the 25 year rule made the RS2 importable, I jumped on the chance to get the original RS wagon (with Porsche roots). I hope to find a B5 RS4 to join the family and help assemble an Audi RS lineup (manuals only).
Did you consider a different WAGON instead of this one?
A newer RS6 Avant but no manual.
What was your original objective with your car and has that objective changed?
Original objective is to federalize the car for US registration. In the meantime, I would love to add an exhaust and some different wheels.
What style would you say best describes your car?
OEM nice.
Who assisted in the planning/building/modding of your car?
My long term, buddy and Audi mechanic Angel (who has had some of my cars at his shop longer than I have had in my garage) and my buddy and fellow esteemed lawyer Jayson.
What do you feel makes your car unique / special in your eyes?
It’s unique/special because it’s a B7 RS4 avant, which was not available in North America; my wagon was imported into Canada from Japan. The options further distinguish the wagon since it has the “Audi Exclusive White Package” with sunroof delete and manual transmission.
What is your favorite part/feature/function of the car?
The V8 sounds… Jeremy Clarkson has described it as one of the best sounding engines of all time.
If you could pick one thing you aren’t satisfied with about your car, what would it be?
My curbed wheels! Getting used to RHD has admittedly been less than seamless.
What has been the biggest obstacle you’ve faced while building this car?
Finding parts and waiting for my buddy mechanic to finish one of my other wagons.
What one word best describes your car?
Lovely
What is your final goal with this car?
To win Race Wars.
If money is no object, which make & model wagon would you get into?
I think I would rather build something like a GT2RS powered, RS2. Then again, there’s something said for having air conditioning and feeling confident your wagon will start up…
