This week’s Avantturous Blog Entry features this super cool looking Subaru Levorg (wagon version of the Subaru Impreza WRX VA). This is the 2nd Singaporean car that we feature on this blog. We never got this model in the US and it’s also quite rare in Singapore. It was definitely a pleasant experience to be able to see one in person! Two things that immediately caught my eyes from Han’s Levorg: its green color and its aggressive stance on meaty fitment Volk Racing CE28N. As a full time family man, a wagon provides the necessary extra space to fit Han’s growing family. Han admitted that his wagon modification is still heavily influenced by track/race setup that he adopted on his previous cars. Although it’s a wagon (the supposedly family car), everything flows just right! Those sticky Toyo R888 tires are ready to provide necessary grip around the mountain roads!
Once I learned about the existence of Han’s Battle Stance Daddy Wagon (in his own word), I knew I must feature it on Avantturous. I got in touch with Han a little over a month before my trip to Singapore and Dempsey Hill was chosen to be the photoshoot location.
Enjoy the photos and we can’t wait to see the next phase of Han’s Levorg!
Introduce Yourself
My name is Farhan. In the car community, I’m known as Han. I live in the northern part of Singapore. I’m 38 years old and a father of 2 young kids.
I’m working in the Autonomous Vehicle Tech industry as AV Test Safety Operator. (Driverless Vehicle Technology).
WHY A WAGON?
To be honest, I never thought I’ll ever be owning a wagon in my lifetime possibly because back then I thought wagons are for older, mature people. haha
My previous cars are all track/racing inspired setup. All 4 door saloon cars. Previously drive a Civic FD2 Type R(JDM).
As my family grew and we needed space, that’s the reason I opt for a wagon.
Share your unique story behind your WAGON ownership.
After deciding to get wagon for myself, I had a hard time choosing what is best for me. I wanted something rare, hardly seen car in Singapore.
My list are, A4B8 avant wagon, VW Passat Variant and Levorg. Out of these 3, the Levorg is the most affordable at that time.
Did you consider a different WAGON instead of this one?
A4B8 avant wagon, VW Passat Variant and Levorg GT-S
What was your original objective with your car and has that objective changed?
As I’m not hungry for power upgrades like my previous car, my objective is just to make the cars simple and sitting pretty with nicely fitted wheels and maybe adding a widebody to give that fat, aggressive look.
What style would you say best describes your car?
Battle Stance.
Who assisted in the planning/building/modding of your car?
My main workshop is called Car Doctor. I’ve known the owner (Sylvester) for more than a decade.
He is responsible for making my vision came true.
What do you feel makes your car unique/special in your eyes?
I love how any cars can look aggressive with just fitting wide wheels and chonky tyres. Especially Levorgs, if it’s done properly, it’s amazing.
What is your favorite part/feature/function of the car?
My wheel fitments. Can never go wrong with CE28Ns and TOYO R888R semi slicks tyres.
Possibly the only Levorg that is painted with this color in Singapore. (Lancia green)
If you could pick one thing you aren’t satisfied with about your car, what would it be?
Exhaust system, my car is fitted with approved HKS Spec L twin mufflers but still not loud at all. Limited choices for my Levorgs. Plus, strict regulations when it comes to fitting an unapproved exhaust system. Hefty fine $1000 or more if caught a few times or even jail time.
What has been the biggest obstacle you’ve faced while building this car?
Getting the fitment dialed in. It’s easier on a stretched tyre setup but not on thicker fat R888Rs.
What one word best describes your car?
Battle Stance Daddy Wagon. It’s not one word though haha.
What is your final goal with this car?
Widebody and new wheels setup.
