Indonesians sure love Mercedes Benz! This is the 4th back-to-back-to-back Indonesian Benz Estate that we feature on this blog. I need keep them coming so I can continue providing fresh features on this Avantturous blog! This week’s blog entry feature belongs to Azka. Azka and I have been exchanging messages even prior to my planned trip to Jakarta, Indonesia. From discussing about wagons, wheels, BBQ sweet corn (YES, you read that right) to discussion about being a parent (we both have sons who are around the same age). It’s always exciting to have finally seen the internet builds in person and of course to have finally met the owner who share the passion as you.
Azka’s S210 E320 Estate was built with “stance” in mind. In order to give this Estate a proper stance, air suspension was acquired. Azka’s wagon has had many different shoes throughout the ownership and it’s currently running a set of wide OZ Futura wheels. Proud of its Indonesian heritage, Accelera PHI tires were chosen to wrap those fine-looking OZ wheels. I am a big fan of the contrast that the OZ Futura wheels provide against the Benz’s dark blue exterior color. Blue OZ center logos were added to finish off the exterior (talk about attention to detail).
After planning for weeks, a photoshoot session finally happened. Our first attempt had to be cancelled due to rain that started the moment I reached the agreed upon photo location. This second attempt, we were both dedicated to make something happen (rain or shine). The result is what you are about to see here…
INTRODUCE YOURSELF
My name is Azka Yuqatamma, I live in Jakarta – Indonesia, and I am a used wheels and car seller.
WHY A WAGON?
I’ve always loved a car that looks big, long, and bulky, or “bantet” on my opinion even more when you lowered it and put some big and wide wheels on it makes it even more “bantet” looks.
Actually this car was a replacement to my lovely Benz w201 BBS which me and my wife loved so much, but it wasn’t what I call reliable though, so I was once own a w210 and I said to my wife and manifesting on my dreams “one day when I get married, and have kids I gotta own and get myself a s210 wagon” it was 2 years before my ownership of this car.
And yeah, this car was far more reliable than my old w201, more practical and spacious.
Did you consider a different WAGON instead of this one?
Of course, a lot came in mind the closest was e39 but since I’m looking for reliability then it was an easy choice between that and s210, and for dreaming sake there is CLS w218 shooting brake, s211, s212 e36 or e46 wagon, Arteon wagon, Accord euro wagon, Evo IX wagon, a Stagea, crown, and even a new Volvo wagon.
What was your original objective with your car and has that objective changed?
The original idea was, make it low, wide wheels driven it as low as it gets to the ground, can bring my family, getting groceries and reliable also practical.
Nope, the objective hasn’t changed. Every mods and moves I made on this car have been and will always be about reliability and practicality, yet stunning. A car that can be a head-turner at weekend meets.
What style would you say best describes your car?
Simple yet stunning! Hahaha (in my opinion at least)
Who assisted in the planning/building/modding of your car?
Modding my car was mostly focusing on undercarriage and wheels, so it was me and my boys at my own shop that assisted building and calculate the fitment, and jaya spring (midun) for the undercarriage.
What do you feel makes your car unique/special in your eyes?
The car itself is a unique and rare species here in Indonesia and, the wheels spec and fitment and also the face of the wheels color I choose isn’t what I called mainstream cause the others always choose between full polished, brushed, or silver faces.
What is your favorite part/feature/function of the car?
The airlift 3p management makes the car so practical hahaha.
If you could pick one thing you aren’t satisfied with about your car, what would it be?
The bodykit looks dumb, I prefer the Brabus bodykit, but I cannot drove as low as it could right now cause the Brabus kit add on are already so low to the ground.
What has been the biggest obstacle you’ve faced while building this car?
The biggest obstacle was finding the right rear shocks the obtain the comfortable on for the passenger but not too soft, so the rear end not instantly dive in when the car is loaded and also to prevent the wheels rubbing on the fender when I’m driving on low preset.
What one word best describes your car?
Land submarine oh wait that’s two hahaha.
What is your final goal with this car?
Taking it on a roadtrip 😁
