Those, who have been following Avantturous from the beginning, would know that I have a soft spot for Shooting Brake wagon offerings from Mercedes Benz. While the recent news about Mercedes Benz cancelling their wagons is a bit upsetting, that won’t stop me from finding clean example of Shooting Brake eye candies for this blog. Enter Kojek with his X218 CLS350 Shooting Brake. This Benz wagon is a rare specimen in Indonesia (less than 10 units for the CLS350 example and less than 5 units for the CLS63 AMG example). Kojek mentioned how he loved the downward slope angle of his Shooting Brake, though he wasn’t too fond of its stock appearance. The factory 18” wheels that came with the wagon make it very pedestrian looking. Having owned this car since brand new, this wagon is a trophy car in Kojek’s garage. It is no surprise that no expense was spared in getting the wagon to the level that you see on this entry. To make the CLS Shooting Brake stand out from the crowd (as if it hasn’t already…), Kojek went with the tuner brand that we are all familiar with: BRABUS.

Going with BRABUS single tuner means attention to detail can be seen all throughout the cars. Starting off with BRABUS aero that includes: front bumper side spoiler & lower lip, sideskirts, fender add-ons and all BRABUS exterior emblems.  Interior was next to received BRABUS treatment: from side steps, door pins, all three pedals and floor mats. BRABUS lowering module was then added to lower the car. Kojek admitted that he would have gone with BRABUS wheels if the 20” Monoblocks were available at the time when he was placing his parts order with BRABUS. Due to a long lead time for the 20” wheels, Kojek went Boutique Wheels shopping elsewhere.  The result is a set of 21” ADV.1 wheels; which fill the wheel well very nicely. To complete the package, BRABUS exhaust system and puddle lights were also added to the Shooting Brake.

I personally love this wagon not only because of its high quality parts and how well-put-together it is, but it’s Kojek’s personal story that really shines from this blog feature. In addition to being Kojek’s fruit of labors and it is also a reminder to himself to “KEEP GOING” and “KEEP FIGHTING.” Stay tuned for next week’s blog entry where we will be covering Kojek’s other Benz wagon (a S202 bagged C-class Estate)!
